![]() The urban fantasy settting in the rulebook - 'True Brit Vampire Slayers' - is more of a micro setting, there as an example of what you need to do to get a game going. However, it is a toolbox, so it comes with the assumption that the GM would need to do a little work to define a setting before moving to PC chargen. It is simple to play and run, so when I saw there was an urban fantasy game that uses the same system I decided to take a look.Ĭomparing these 2 games which do you feel is best for urban fantasy? Is everywhen complete with all the rules you need or would I need to use my Barbarians of Lemuria Mythic Edition core rulebook in tandem with it?Įverywhen is complete, so you wouldn't need BoL Mythic to use it. ![]() There are 2 supplements so far that allow you to play as a Vampire or a werewolf but the selection is still limited to what Everywhen seems to have available.ĭark Streets & Darker Secrets caught my eye because I previously purchased Solar Blades & Cosmic Spells and love the rules-lite system. as player characters, which is an advantage because Dark Streets & Darker Secrets only lets you play human characters and ones with psionic or sorcery abilities in the core rulebook. I also saw there is a supplement that lets you play Vampires, Werewolves, Ghosts, Demons, Revenants, etc. I see that Everywhen has been released for it and that it has an urban fantasy setting in the core rulebook. It is my favorite sword & sorcery RPG ever. I'm an old fan of Barbarians of Lemuria, owning both the Legendary Edition and the Mythic Edition. I have been getting the urge to do an urban fantasy campaign and I'm trying to decide between these 2 rules-lite systems to power the campaign.
